Comfort Mag.net

Just some newsy news…

Mitchell Gold and Bob Williams, design extraordinaries [who also have a bulldog named Lulu] have launched an online magazine - Comfort Mag.net - all about the spirit of their brand. It will feature articles and interviews with other designers on topics ranging from food to design to celebrities.

Thanks!

Post-Plane Exhaustion

Thank you to everyone for the well wishes! On top of moving 3000 miles away from home with 2 doggies, I have a monster cold. However, everything went smoothly and I am playing catch-up this week. By next week I will be posting regularly again, although the time may be different based on my new schedule and time zone. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Swatter

Check out this clover-shaped flyswatter from Heal’s.

MADE Design

MADE Design is a retailer in Toronto focused on innovative design and working with independent designers and artists to showcase their work. I really love all of the designs, which you can find on their website. Here is a sampling from their catalog:

Modern Kid

Modern Kid has a great online store, but they also have a 1200 sq. foot store located in Vancouver. So, if you’re in the neigborhood, go in person and check out the great modern baby furniture and accessories available.

Pony Rug

I really like this pony rug from StyleGarage, located in Toronto.

Found Design

Found Design, located in Ottawa, is a vintage store that boasts a loarge inventory of mid-century modern furniture. They have a large selection available on their website, but even more in the store. Occasionally, they sell on eBay.

UpCountry

We’re still talking about Canada today!

UpCountry has a new flagship store in Toronto. They offer a selection of beautiful modern furniture, including Baronet. art101 is UpCountry’s 40,000 sq. foot art gallery located in their Toronto store. The current show features Kagame Murray, a Toronto-based photographer and painter. I love when art and design meet.

I really like the lines of this chaise.

I also have a soft spot for tufting…like on this Rochelle sofa.

Flavour Design

Flavour Studios, created in 1999 by Élan and Mark Falvai, is located in Qualicum Beach, British Columbia.

So sad that this magazine stand is out of stock. I really like it.

The Buddha bowl and the Udon bowl are super big hits! I eat a lot of noodles and noodle soup, so I think that I’d like at least one of each.

Bombast Furniture

Bombast Furniture is located in Vancouver, BC, but they have a fairly decent website. The only drawback is that it is in black and white. Regardless, their offerings are modern, urban, and streamlined: all things I like.

Canada Day - Klaus by Nienkamper

I often post about stores that are only in the USA, and I thought it was about time that I talked a little about Canadian stores. My friend Kim from DesiretoInspire sent me a bunch of links to Canadian stores, so I am going to feature a number of them today, and perhaps through the rest of the week.

First up is Klaus by Nienkamper, located in Toronto. They offer a variety of upscale designer furnishings, including my favorite light, the Dandelion:

I also found this light fascinating:

Weego Home Rugs

Check out these yummy rug patterns from Weego Home. See more on their website here.

Birdies

Check out these birds available at Luxeville - they’re old school.

Eazy Bean

FUN! I really want a pear. Available from Auto.

Alba Clock

Furni has a new clock out - the Alba clock. I love it.

Here are a few new items from Inside Avenue that I really like.

Spencer Table

Mist Chair

The Mist Chair from Domodinamica is super cool. It really lives up to its name. I’d like to see two of these outside by a very blue pool. I spotted this chair thanks to my lovely friend Gaile Guevara.

St. Jude’s

Thanks to Bloesem, I know that Angie Lewin’s beautiful designs are available as fabric and cushion covers at St. Jude’s.

Tree Bookshelf

I have seen This bookshelf a few places this week. I would love to see it in a children’s room or even a classroom.
