I’m a Wimp

I got my issue of Real Simple in the mail this weekend - the Family issue. I don’t have kids, I thought, so why bother reading it? Well, I do have a mom and dad, so I decided to flip through it. Oh, man. There is this section in the issue where writers submitted letters addressed to their children for the future. For example “to be read on your wedding day”… One is even written by Dooce.

Cue the waterworks. I couldn’t even get through them all. OK, just thought I’d share.

Abacus Watches

These watches use magnetic technology or something like that. The ball moves to and fro across the face of the watch with the flow of the wearer’s arm movements, but as soon as the Abacus reaches a horizontal position, the ball moves as if by magic - or at least by magnetism - to the right point in time. So if you are looking for a stopwatch, this one isn’t it. But, if you just want to know approximately what time it is and care more about the cool design and technology of your watch, then this is the one.
