28 West Coast Grove in Singapore by ONG&ONG

We are in Singapore again today, this time in a quiet neighborhood where ONG&ONG renovated a home at 28 West Coast Grove. The goals of this project were to bring more light into the living space while also modernizing the home to meet the ever-changing needs of today’s family.

From the architects:

To address the first need, the main elements of the first floor rooms were detached from the party wall, thereby allowing light to enter from all corners. A secondary measure was the introduction of several skylights, thereby allowing natural light to illuminate the greenery inside. These plants give the modern-looking interior a refreshing, outdoor-like feel.

An infinity koi pond was also added to the back garden, creating a tranquil area for rest and contemplation. When the folding doors are left open, the house’s inner area merges with the yard and forms a single seamless space.

The highlight of this home is the master suite, with bedroom, bathroom, stand-alone island with free standing tub and an exercise area. Combined, these various elements create an overall spa-like environment without ever having to leave home.
