30 Connected Frames Can Be Arranged in Various Ways to Form the Coil Bench

Tim Miller Studio designed a modular form of seating that can adapt to most any space. The Coil Bench is composed of 30 wooden frames that are connected to form a vertebrae-like structure that can be arranged into various shapes, from a circle to an S-shape.

The interactive bench invites the user to play with the arrangement which produces a visual and auditory experience through the repetition of the frames and the clacking noise they make when the edges touch. While it’s a playful design, it’s also flexible and functional and could work in different spaces.
