You know how much we love plywood interior design around here so we couldn’t resist this small Kyoto home designed by Yoshihiro Yamamoto Architects Atelier (YYAA), an architects office from Osaka, Japan.
Designed for a craftsman and his mother, who lived in a Danchi (a Japanese housing complex known for its small and clustered construction) for many years, the home was created to resemble the Danchi style—consisting of three simple rooms and a garage.
The rooms were lined in plywood that has yet to be covered, exposing this building material as a design element.
