Dutch fashion designer Iris van Herpen collaborated with Amsterdam-based designer Jólan van der Wiel to create a pair of dresses inspired by nature. Already known to “grow” things like candleholders and stools, van der Wiel whipped out his magnet growing skills to craft these phenomenal dresses that are made via attraction and repulsion through the forces of magnetism.
It took three weeks with two people working on each dress to master the look they were trying to achieve. The result is a soft and flexible material grown from iron, resin and fabric that works well as a textile, making it perfect for fashion.
