A Mineral-Shaped Beach House by Vértice Arquitectos

With a plot of land in the shape of a quarter circle that also had a deep slope, Vértice Arquitectos were tasked with designing a beach house that would not only work with the land, but give the homeowners optimum sea views. Located in Lima, Perú, the J-4 Beach House design is based on two structures that have been cut in order to give it a mineral-like form. The structures were designed to overhang one another helping to provide useful spaces beneath them.

Even with the building regulations and challenging plot, they were able to build two terraced levels giving the home tons of outdoor space and views of the beautiful ocean.

The highest part of the house contains the main bedroom. The second structure, located at the lowest point, consists of two floors with a garage underneath. This part features the main living space and other bedrooms.

The entrance sits between the two containers and you access it through a slopped garden. Going along with the strict coastal regulations, all of the exterior walls are painted white.

To avoid obstructing the view, the terrace railings are made of glass creating a seamless look for the homeowners.

Floor-to-ceiling windows also frame the view. I imagine it would make it hard to get out of bed in the morning!

Unless you go straight from the bed to this outdoor terrace complete with an amazing pool.
