Alice Cheng, of LA-based interior design firm SHIALICE, designed the interior of this brand-new town home that was immediately gutted after purchase. Located in a Los Angeles suburb’s mountainside, the town home became a bachelor’s dream with its comfortable, modern vibe.
The owner knew that he gravitated towards a modern and minimalist aesthetic, but couldn’t figure out exactly what he wanted. Working with SHIALICE allowed him to discover both modern and mid-century works he could appreciate over time and recognize the investment value of purchasing authentic work.
Split over two floors, the 2,000 square foot, 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom build came with the most inexpensive fixtures and finishes and the owner purchased it knowing he was going to customize the entire space once he owned it. 99% of the interior was redone, including all of the lighting, flooring, bathrooms, and kitchen, getting rid of the carpet, vinyl floors, and prefab marble counters.
