NYCxDesign 2016: Designjunction / Dwell on Design

We were very excited to check out designjunction’s second appearance at NYCxDesign, which was enhanced by a partnership with Dwell on Design.

The show was once again at Art Beam, a great location for a design show with exposed brick and high ceilings. The large open area was filled with everything from textiles to workspace furnishings to lighting and art. We were excited to see a lot of well-known brands alongside new and young brands that we’ve just discovered.

The space showcased 20+ contemporary design brands from Artek to Buster + Punch, Bokara Rug Company and Uprise art… it was a diverse group.

Wework teamed up with Muuto and Studio bricks on these quiet popup workspaces. Just next to this popup space was the Junction Café, furnished by Vitra and Artek, where visitors were able to get their hands on a free illy espresso (much needed when running around NYC all week!). In conjunction with National Hummus Day, Sabra hummus hosted an interactive eating experience.

In addition to the product showcase, a 3-day series of talks curated by Dwell magazine editor-in-chief Amanda Dameron, were both educational and inspiring.
