In this month’s Destination Design, we take off to Paris to visit Hôtel Joséphine, a boutique hotel with a cabaret vibe located just minutes from the famed Moulin Rouge. Noted interior designer Julie Gauthron gave the hotel a colorful, early 19th century French contemporary look inspired by the cabaret itself.
Charming floral decor is interspersed with modern wares giving the interior a vintage, yet modern feel for visitors. There are 41 rooms that span six floors, each carefully executed by Gauthron, who has a unique way with hotels (remember Hotel Crayon Paris?).
Located in South Pigalle, right by the Moulin Rouge, the hotel is also adjacent to the Sacré Coeur, Montmarte, Opéra Garnier, and the Place de la Madeleine, for those wanted to sightsee.
The rainbow-colored rooms spark the cabaret feel and will almost make you feel like you’re living in the twenties or thirties.
Black and white images of cabaret dancers adorn the patterned walls, furthering the vintage aesthetic.
