Mosaic Tile Inspired by Gestalt Psychology

Just launched at this year’s Cersaie, NUC is a new mosaic glass tile created by MUT Design that plays with your perception. Designed for Harmony by Peronda, the tile design was inspired by the principles of Gestalt psychology, much like the infamous Rubin vase/face, in that it’s just a simple square tile, but when slightly rotated, an optical illusion emerges.

By shifting the square tile, the grout spaces create a feeling of movement and even begin to look like fishing nets or mesh fabric. NUC, which means ‘knot’ in Catalan, comes in three colors with four different options for grout colors.
