Contemporary Jewelry Designed by an Architect

Architect Ayça Ozbank merged her love of urban cities and jewelry to create Mara Paris, sculptural jewelry that’s wearable architecture. It was after spending much of her life in cities and cultures around the world, that gave Ayça the inspiration to translate these experiences into jewelry. Her latest collection consists of two parts, Modern Venetian Shapes and A Touch of Light.

Modern Venetian Shapes gives nod to Carlo Scarpa’s architecture, where he smoothly combines old and new, structural and ornamental details. This collection aims to translate the poetry often found in his work.

A Touch Of Light is inspired by lighting design. Like Modern Venetian Shapes, these accessories are small, yet powerful sculptural pieces that alter the space they are in. They’re named after light— such as Glow, Ultraviolet, and Spektrum.
