The Brocca Bombo by Clelia Valentino

In the days when water was scarce and needed to be transported from villages to the countryside, farmers used a traditional, rural earthenware jug know as a bummulo made by master potters to transport, store, and deliver water. Designer Clelia Valentino of Imperfetto Siciliano has created a modern day interpretation called the Brocca Bombo jug to bring the same functional object to your home. The drop-shaped ceramic jug is handcrafted in the Caltagirone district of Sicily, Italy and can hold up to 3 1/2 liters of water that can be poured from the top or side openings. Hand-painted pastel color-blocking gives the jug a charming look.
