Flexible, Movable Furniture Inspired by Hand Trucks

You know those hand trucks that movers and delivery drivers use to transport heavy boxes and furniture? Architecture firm CL3 and Lim + Lu joined forces to design a range of furniture inspired by those making the pieces both flexible and movable. The clever collection was created for Cornell University’s College of Architecture, Arts, and Planning, for which CL3 founder, William Lim, and Lim + Lu co-founders, Vincent Lim and Elaine Lu, are all graduates of, making the project particularly special.

Each piece of furniture works as a hybrid with two functions depending on how it’s positioned. Attached to each design is a hand truck, which doubles as the base, as well as the way the furniture is moved fro place to place.
