The Scout Table by Alchemy Mercantile

The Scout is a solid walnut end table by San Diego, California-based Alchemy Mercantile, who drew inspiration from Danish design. With a mid-century modern vibe, the table is handmade and built to last without the need for screws or nails – strictly wood to wood joinery. This allows the wood to swell and shrink as the seasons and temperatures fluctuate throughout the year.

The table rests on three tapered legs with a lower wooden shelf and a top shelf made of “Low Iron” Starphire glass (reduced green hue and color reflection). At the back, a box-like planter joins the two levels making way for your favorite plant.

Each table is finished with a combination of natural oils and wax, before being hand-buffed to get its matte sheen. The natural finishes will not harm your plant or pollute the soil in your planter box.

A percentage of the sale of each piece is donated to the Arbor Day Foundation, in the purchaser’s name, which ensures that furniture design lasts for future generations.
