Amiigo: Fitness Device That Tracks Specific Exercises

A few fitness bands and trackers have been on the market for a while now but never has one been able to recognize the specific activities you’re doing and how your body is responding. Now there’s Amiigo – a fitness bracelet that not only allows you to track things like your exercise, heart rate, blood oxygen levels, skin temperature, overall activity level, and calories burned, it will keep up with your type of exercise, your reps, sets, duration, speed, and intensity.

Other devices have not been able to differentiate between a sweaty round on the elliptical and a stroll on the beach, but now you can with Amiigo and the algorithms they’ve designed to tell what you’re up to. Perfect for the hardcore athlete in you.

Outfitted with two sensors, one in the wristband that detects your upper body’s movement, while the shoe clip captures your lower body moves. They can also work independently of each other if you’re not wearing shoes or if you can’t wear the bracelet.

Amiigo is seeking funding on Indiegogo and have already reached their goal but you can still get in on the action.

The Amiigo syncs with your iOS and Android phones via Bluetooth 4.0 so you can compete with your friends or share your achievements on social networks.

You can support this project on Indiegogo through the end of February, but it looks like they’ve already raised enough funds to get it jumpstarted.
