We bought the old shuffles for our sons and I think the new usit is a significant improvement in terms of visual appeal. As for the earphones, third party adaptors will soon be available so I don\'t think the OOB ear phones are realy an issue. I have to say that I like the style of the new shuffle. Everyone knows how crappy the sounds is in those things, and how they don't even stay in your ears very well. And now you're forced to use them. Sorry Apple, better luck next time!
