One has to wonder whether the designers over at MUEMMA of Berlin, Germany found any inspiration from Foster + Partner’s work-in-progress, Apple Campus 2, for their wireless Bluetooth speaker, the ARiNA, shares a passing resemblance to the Cupertino architectural space ship. Within the circular speaker’s soft indented button design are 6 speakers (2x high/mids, 2x bass drivers, 2x passive) placed for 360° sound.
The most unique feature beyond the ARiNA’s unusual upper/lowercase spelling is its adaptability for use upon both flat surfaces or wall mounted (a smartly integrated spring loaded keyhole makes wall mounting a cinch), a pleasantly unobtrusive design whether in use or in standby mode. Taking a page of similarly spirited audio devices with fashionable sensibilities – e.g. Libratone, Vifa, and B&O Play – the ARiNA sports a selection of interchangeable soft felt or cotton covers, allowing users to swap out colors and textures to match mood or decor.
The speaker is rated for 10 hours of playback before recharging, with a built-in 2,500mAh power pack for charging devices and hands-free microphone built in for conference calls. And finally, the gentle and soft textured indentation in the middle makes the ARiNA a surprisingly good spot for dropping a phone into upon returning home, making the speaker useful even when nothing is being emitted.
