This Artist’s Loft by Della Valle Bernheimer looks more like an sculpture than a home. The walls are created by laser cutting metal sheets and with them separate living, working and entertaining spaces. It’s no surprise that the use of raw concrete for the floors blends so well with the color of the walls and makes the art really pop against this background. The slits on the curved wall serve as a visual art element; the light behind projects through, creating a beautiful pattern displayed on the floor.

Wow this loft makes a serious statement with the all the metal and concrete. I am drawn to the metal walls with their cut outs; the shadow and light created is beautiful. I wonder how it feels to be in this space. I imagine some nice music would be essential to take the edge off the echo. There isn’t a whole lot of sound absorbing material in here.
