Tuberack by Joeri Reynaert
From Belgium-born, Italy-based designer Joeri Reynaert comes the Tuberack shelf / space divider. Tuberack is easy to assemble and made of solid oak. The clever piece uses no screws or glue for assembly but instead is held together with rubber tubes that can also hold your books and magazines.
BGT Partners Headquarters by ADD Inc Miami
The Miami, Florida-based interactive marketing firm of BGT Partners is now located in a brand new 30,000 square foot loft-like space that has zero cubicles. Instead they opt for collaborative spaces. Who wouldn’t be happy about that?
Deskshell by Kawamura-Ganjavian
Sometimes you just need a little privacy, and the Deskshell is perfect for that. Created by the architecture and design studio Kawamura-Ganjavian, this desk divider would come in handy for those who work in open space offices, which have become the norm these days. It’s upholstered in sound-absorbing fabric and is portable so it can function as a temporary source of privacy.
Canyon Point Residence by RKD Architects
Located in Telluride, Colorado, the Canyon Point residence by RKD Architects is the epitome of mountain luxury. Surrounded by mountain views and overlooking a canyon that drops 1500 feet below, the 10,000 square foot home combines a look that is both rustic and modern. Inside, there are six bedrooms, an office, and a workout room, while outside there is a pond, hot tub, and a fire pit.
30+ Modern Thank You Cards
There are always plenty of reasons to say thank you and now you can do it in a less Hallmarky kind of way. Here are 30 (yes 30!) of my favorite modern thank you cards:
The Retro Dot letterpress card from Night Owl Paper Goods brings one of my favorite color combinations together: turquoise and red. The eco-friendly card is printed on 100% cotton paper made from the textile industry’s recovered fibers.
Deinde Collection from Elena Galli Giallini
Italian architect and designer Elena Galli Giallini has been living in Japan since 1995 and brings a multicultural education to her designs. She recently designed the Deinde Collection for Japanese furniture company Morishige. This collection incorporates the use of urushi, which is traditional Japanese lacquer, with modern furniture.
Jigsaw Residence by David Jameson Architect
David Jameson’s Jigsaw house is located in Bethesda, MD on a corner lot that once was home to a single-story residence. The house was built around an open courtyard that was left from the original house’s remains. The clean lines and the massive windows create a beautiful airiness to the space. Each space is complex with varying ceiling heights and window sizes and an overall asymmetrical, puzzle-like design. The angular lines of the house, inside and out, create a repetition of rectangular shapes throughout. Despite the overall complexity of the design, there is modern simplistic element as well.
AK47 2012 New Home Collection
The Italian company AK47 recently launched their new home collection for 2012. Their line continues but this time with items for inside the home whereas before, they focused on the outside. They’ve taken simple ideas and created an innovative, space-saving, and extremely functional line of modern housewares that are all about customization for each person’s needs.
