Working alongside Eugeni Quitllet, Philippe Starck has recently designed Home/Gym/Office for Alias’s fitness collection. The HGO collection is composed of a gym mat, barbell, jump rope, multipurpose hook, and rack. The gym mat is constructed of leather and polyurethane foam with non-slip rubber used in the lower portion.
Steamer Set, designed by Office for Product Design for JIA Inc, is a modern interpretation of the traditional steamer. Steaming food has been at the core of traditional Chinese cooking, but the Chinese steamer has hardly seen any change to its aesthetic, until now. This new rendition reinterprets the classic steamer into a modernized and functional design.
This three-storey building, dubbed House in Shirogane, is the work of Okuna Architects, based in Japan. The residence is 95 square meters in size and constructed of reinforced concrete and wood. The house is located in Shirogane, Minato-ku, which is toward the outskirts of Tokyo.
Located in Komazawa, Tokyo, K-House is one of Hugo Kohno Architect Associates latest works. Acting like a thermos, the construction of the home takes into account insulated heating and cooling. Large windows are placed co-linear to the edge of the building to let in ample sunlight.
Nendo is back again with another stunning creation, Lacquered Paper-Objects. Commissioned by Italian firm, Nilufar, the small containers are created by using 3D printing technology to cut, stack, and paste pieces of paper together to generate the form’s foundation.
This renovation project is a recent undertaking by Tokyo-based firm, htmn. Dubbed, “Suspensions of Space,” this project was a redesign of the upper floor of a house constructed with the two by four method. The clients originally wanted the entire space void of walls, but due to the lack of structural integrity, the architects were restricted to keeping the walls intact.
CZ-House, located near Pabianice, Poland, is a single family homed designed by Tamizo Architects. Partially hidden behind a concrete barrier, the residence is a one-story structure replete with large glass windows that overlook a beautifully serene and tranquil landscape.
Completed by the end of this month, APOLLO Architects have designed their newest building in Kitayama-cho, Fuchu, Tokyo called Ring. The location is in the quiet outskirts of Tokyo, and the clients are a husband and wife who work as teachers in a nearby private school.
House in Lisbon is a remodeled apartment interior located in Portugal, and designed by architects Bruno and Carla Pica. The building is tucked away between urban sprawls; the exterior has barely any resemblance to the magnificently minimalist interior. There is also a terrace that houses a few landscaping elements.
Manufactured in Switzerland, the D7 workstation is an office system designed by Denz. Focused around organization, this desk is much more functional than meets the eye. The table tops are available in synthetic resin, melamine, veneer, solid wood, and glass. Denz also offers custom finishes as well.
