Polish firm mode:lina architekci recently finished the interior of an apartment in PoznaÅ„, Poland named the Aviator Apartment. The design was meant to reflect that of its owner’s personality and professions: a young lawyer and a pilot. The main theme throughout is that of aviation, his biggest passion, with an overall neutral and clean palette.
Models and graphics are mixed into the mostly white space that’s interspersed with warm woods and black accents. The overall mood is fairly conservative but scattered around the shelves, you’ll notice plane parts and models. You can also spot a print of his favorite Concorde through the cut-out shelf that’s hanging on the office wall.
Even the angles of the walls and built-in furniture resembles an airplane’s wings
The apartment is fairly sparse without tons of clutter but it’s far from cold. It has a homey and inviting feel.
The open, wing-shaped shelves have holes in them which allows the owner to keep the entire apartment under visual control.
The office is the lawyer’s main command center where he can stay busy with his serious day job but they’ve managed to throw in wall shelves that look like plane parts.
