Blank William Reimagines Star Wars Stormtrooper Helmets as Animals

We’re not ashamed to count ourselves amongst the rabid fans eagerly awaiting the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens next month. With all the pent up hype upon the release of the official trailer, alongside the recent foreign market trailer revealing additional footage, interest about the new movies are at an all time high. Fans searching for new news might find themselves perplexed…or pleasantly confused…by these sculptures by New York artist Blank William depicted a trio of animals envisioned as stormtroopers.

An elephant, rhinoceros, and hippopotamus – each creature covered in the recognizable glossy material characteristic of an Imperial stormtrooper’s armor, embellished with gold or chrome. William reproduced/reinterpreted each mammalian stormtrooper in impressive detail, naming his trio of hefty Galactic Empire animalia, The New Order, with both black and white editions. None of these will be in the movie, but we still can admire them as imaginative works of art and design from a galaxy far, far away.

So which do you prefer, the original white stormtrooper finish or the Kylo Ren era finish?
