Rolu is a minimal design created by Osaka-based designer Chiaki Murata of hers for Metaphys. Rolu functions as an on-the-go memo holder with a single brass bar holding down the paper.

Engineering Temporality is the Design Academy Eindhoven graduate project of Tuomas Markunpoika Tolvanen that pays tribute to our temporal nature as human beings. Inspired by his grandmother's slow decline with Alzheimer's, Heidegger set out to create objects that could mimic the fragility of our lives.

This month’s Designer Dailies takes a peek into the working life of Los Angeles-based designer Brendan Ravenhill. The designer, who was born on the Ivory Coast and spent summers on the coast of Maine, studied sculpture at Oberlin College and Industrial Design at RISD. He fell in love with building things when he was a boy, helping his father with carpentry projects. He has collaborated in the construction of a timber frame barn as well as the construction of eight boats, and spent a year as an apprentice welder. It's no surprise, then, that Ravenhill finds his inspiration in the functional beauty of working tools. Let's see how he spends his day.

Wall decals are a great alternative to wallpaper as they don't damage your walls when they're removed and you can change them the moment you get tired of your handiwork with little effort. While there are a lot of wall decals out there, it's harder to find simple shapes that can create modern patterns like the Removable Wall Patterns from the Salt Lake City based MUR.

I think my LEGO obsession is well documented by now so I immediately jumped for joy over this key hanger from Felix Grauer. Using some basic LEGO bricks you might have leftover from childhood and some easily obtained split rings, you could make your very own based off of this nifty design.

The Dot Porcelain Table is not just any side table, it's a table with a pot "growing" out of it. Designed by Marcial Ahsayane and Miriam Liebana, the tabletop is made from a single piece of porcelain with a little pot built right in to hold anything from candies, flowers, or any other decoration you want to display.

Although not a new design, I just discovered it so it's new to me! Japanese company BCXSY's Seesaw bookshelf is a pretty neat concept. I bet you could put books you've read on one end and ones you' haven't read yet on the other. Which side would be heavier for you?
