Friday Five with Nate Berkus
If you haven't heard, Oprah-approved interior designer Nate Berkus debuts The Nate Berkus Collection at Target, online and in stores, this month. And yes, his signature line of home products remains available on HSN. This Chicago-based designer, who established his firm in 1995, is ever busy. While his two-year stint with his talk show has wrapped, Berkus took on a new role in entertainment—that of executive producer on the Disney and DreamWorks film The Help. This fall, he's also publishing his second book, The Things That Matter (Spiegel & Grau). Berkus shares his inspirations for this week's Friday Five.

Bungalow Outdoor Lights
Inspired by fairytale houses in a forest that we all remember from various fables and stories as children, Autumn Products designed the Bungalow Outdoor Lights. Made of waterproof silicone, the adorable house-shaped lights glow with the help of a removable LED light on a base plate.

Glass Prototypes by Daniele Fratarcangeli
Daniele Fratarcangeli is both a sculptor of glass and a teacher teaching his glass skills to others in San Diego, California. Each piece is handblown glass that is then mirrored on the interior to give it the reflective quality. Between the mirroring and the reflective quality of the glass, the pieces shine that much more.
Four Corners Philly Exhibition
Last month I mentioned a great exhibition taking place during DesignPhiladelphia called Four Corners: Design from Philly Surrounds. I had the chance to check it out this past weekend and I would highly recommend if you're local to Philadelphia that you stop in to Minima Gallery before the exhibit ends on October 20th. If you can't make it, then here's a peek:
Recycled Pendant Lamps by Kelly Caruso
Designer Kelly Caruso is a recent grad with a degree in Furniture Design and Woodworking but it's her Recycled Pendant Lamps that really caught our attention. What began with a grant from her college to study "the application of recycled material in furniture design", led her down the path that she's now on and it's a good one.
BoConcept ISTRA Sofa with Klint Fabric Giveaway
BoConcept has re-launched a collection of mixed pattern fabrics designed by the Danish textile designer Vibeke Klint back in the 1950s called Klint and, to celebrate, they're giving away an ISTRA sofa (retail value: $2,889) in green Klint fabric! That's a pretty sweet giveaway if I might say so myself... in fact, I'm gonna be pretty jealous of whoever wins.
