The Art of Cathy McMurray

Artist Cathy McMurray, a self-described “city girl,” finds inspiration in the landscape that surrounds her—the mountains and sea of Portland, Oregon. True to her Northwest roots, McMurray work with materials that are easy on the environment, including locally-sourced wood panels and paper that is recycled or made in mills using renewable energy. We find these mixed media works simultaneously uplifting and haunting. We love the resulting moody color palettes that we created with Colourlovers for this week’s installment of CMYLK.
