A Curvy Chair for Best-Selling Writer Paulo Coelho

Portuguese architect Eduardo Benamor Duarte created a very unusual chair for international event Arts on Chairs Duets, which partners designers with world-renowned personalities and furniture manufacturers from Paredes, a Portuguese municipality. This partnership saw Duarte paired with best-selling writer Paulo Coelho and the result is a curvy chair, made by Gual, that matches the majestic spiritual world of Coelho’s literary work.

The idea behind the design is that of the “animistic belief that every non-human form has a spiritual essence,” which Duarte took from Coelho’s work.
