The BAB Hotel, located at the heart of the Gueliz district in Marrakech, Morocco, is sleek and artsy, but not overly self-conscious, which means guests have no problem relaxing. With interiors and furniture designed by London firm Studio Hopscotch, it’s very white, with black accents and playful pops of color in the public spaces. And, with a shout-out in Goop, it’s Gwyneth Paltrow approved.

The designer of the fabulous multicolored “plastic fur” poufs and lampshades is Domino Lesserre. Her company is Lalla Mika and her workshop is in a tiny village outside of Marrakesh. She also designs accessories for Comme des Garcons among others.
I have been to the Hotel and her designs really make a statement in all that white. I am so glad you are posting about that great place. Such a find. Thank you.

The pictures do not do the space justice! Was there in person mid September, 2011.
Imagine having been staying in an over-rated 3.5 stars hotel for the past 2 days and not having a drop of alcohol to drown all that sorrow… Yup, it was an non-alcoholic Muslim hotel, get used to that idea, my friend. After consulting the Lonely Planet guide, we were directed to the BAB Hotel for its top pick of \entertainment\ (aka bar). After an uncomfortable walk in the dark (no street lights, my friend) past some unsavory individuals and unspeakable dump (no, those were not souks you want to go to), the BAB hotel emerged out of nowhere.
The clean bright white modern interior welcomed you in; this stylish and chic hotel could be in Miami, New York or Tokyo. You forgot about everything outside. In a way – it was sad how disconnected the space was from the locale, but in a way, it was familiar and a safe refuge.
Love the bold broad design strokes like the clusters of mirror globe pendants at the entrance (picture 1 & 2 from top). 3rd picture from the top is taken at the elevator lobby of the guest room floor. Large colorful plastic fur ottomans meets larger than life photographic art. (If memory serves me right (we went up to the rooftop bar for a drink 1st then walk down), every floor is slightly different.)
This could possibly be the trendiest hotel in Marrakesh. (Casa Blanca is another story).

Stunning, beautiful, amazing. Been there for drinks but never looked around the rest of the hotel & wish I had now! At 120 euros night its amazing value too.
