Dwell on Design Exclusive House Tour: Canon Residence

If this house looks familiar, it’s because we featured it back in 2010. We love it so much that we’re happy to show it again with these exclusive tour photos.

Located in Pasadena, California, the Canon Residence was originally built in 1959 by Buff, Straub & Hensmen as the Thompson Mosley House. With mid-century bones, the renovation by Space International meant carefully restoring the wood post and beam structure while at the same time bringing the exterior up to date. The interior was given a new “interior core” that was placed along the central spine of the house. If you’re going to revamp a mid-century modern house, this is definitely how you do it.

This pool/backyard area is to die for!

We did not attend Dwell on Design this year, but DoD was generous enough to photograph the homes on the tour exclusively for Design Milk. Make sure to check out all of the 2012 Dwell on Design house tours here.
