Eco-Friendly Housing Complex by Alberto Apostoli

Alberto Apostoli recently designed a new housing complex in Verona, Italy called Residence Santa Caterina, whose aim is to create a community for the residents where they’d like to take a walk through.

Due to the design being composed of vertical elements, the materials were simplified and a minimal use of color was incorporated. Three types of siding were used on the exterior of the units to create a uniform look throughout the complex – stucco, stone, and green-stratified laminate.

Along the stone walkways, the landscaping incorporated plants native to the area and they encourage people to enjoy the grounds.

The color scheme blends in well with the surrounding natural environment which also helps provide a sense of unity throughout.

The overall design is a simple, modern complex without being over-the-top which is exactly what the architect wanted.

How’s that for mood lighting?
