Foursquare Checks Into New Digs in Soho

Who wouldn’t want to check-in (you knew I was going to do that, didn’t you?) to work everyday if their offices looked like the new Soho digs of Foursquare? The social networking company set out to create an office space that reflected the company’s fun and vivacious team of 20- and 30-somethings, so owner Dennis Crowley and Derek Stewart, Director of Finance and Operations, collaborated with Designer Fluff‘s Audra Canfield to achieve just that.

Full of unconventional lounges and workspaces, the office even sports a recreational room with foosball, ping pong tables, and shuffle board to help lighten the stress.

For the main, open space, they kept the color scheme to white and grey, while adding hints of blue and yellow accent pillows from Designer Fluff.

The conference rooms are based off their famous check-in badges that users receive when they arrive at various locations multiple times. Each room has a different theme, like Jetsetter for airport check-ins and Vinyl for record store check-ins. The hallway has the badges hung outside the doors of each room.

Swarm Badge – bee motif

The Herbivore conference room houses custom terrariums, from Brooklyn-based Twig, that hold plastic herbivore animals.

Bookworm Badge – library motif

Photogenic is the badge for any place with a photo booth. Old cameras are displayed on shallow shelves that are hung on a chalkboard wall. The wall is to be covered with the employee’s Instagram photos.

Socialite is a nod to check-ins at nightclubs and bars with its glam purple and white theme.
