Friday Five by Beatrice Girelli of Indidesign

Co-founder and Design Director Beatrice Girelli is a creative force behind Los Angeles, California based Indidesign, a high-end design studio specializing in luxury hotel design and commercial interiors. The Italian-trained architect received her Master Degree in Architecture from the University of Rome, La Sapienza, with a concentration in Historic Preservation/Restoration and still maintains her professional license in Italy and the UK. Throughout her almost 20 years in the business, she’s completed design projects on four different continents, including the Grand Hyatt Singapore, Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, Hilton San Francisco, Hyatt Regency Monterey, Hokulani Waikiki, and The Palace Hotel in San Francisco. 2. Barcelona Pavilion by Mies Van der Rohe
This building has been an inspiration for my work and practice since I was in school. I love the essential sophistication and the juxtapositions of planes stripped of any form of decoration.
