Friday Five with Ed Ward of All Lovely Stuff

Ed Ward is a designer and developer who has worked for clients such as Established & Sons, Habitat, and Mathmos, and also founded All Lovely Stuff. His office works on product design, including sourcing and product development, interior projects, as well as commissions. Since last year, All Lovely Stuff has been developing a collection of objects that offer a smile along with good function, affordably. For this week’s Friday Five, Ward shows us what lovely and functional objects make him smile.

1. Enzo Mari / Danese / Sedici Animali
There is something truly beautiful about these animals, with which charm and character are put to good use in a product.

2. Michael Marriot / VG&P / Croquet Shelving
These shelves display a very practical, incredibly smart construction.

3. Jasper Morrison / Alessi / Socrates
This offers a very satisfying operation; works as well as anything I own. It’s a good example of something I miss when I have to use another type of corkscrew.

4. Achille Castiglioni / Ideal Standard / Linda
I own a Linda sink and I use it several times a day. It’s a very beautiful object—simple and practical. It’s a lesser known product by the Italian genius.

5. Andrew Stafford / Random Product / Swiss Cheese
Makes you smile and keeps your door open. What more can you ask from a door wedge?
