Lately I’ve really been attracted to gold accents. It’s like whenever I see something with gold, I’m immediately drawn in. I don’t know if it has something to do subconsciously with the current financial times, where gold is one of the safer investments to make, or a backlash to the preoccupation with the recession, and cost effective ideas. I think probably however, I’m loving gold more because the way it really makes me feel. There’s just something festive and uptown shall we say about gold accents and I think they just sort of go with anything really. Gold can work with wood, white lacquer, or even beside something more organic like a tree stump. Here I’ve picked 5 things that have definitely caught my eye as of late.

1. Gold Lip Dishes from Up in the Air Somewhere
With an uneven lip that looks amazing stacked, these dishes are handmade, the rim is gold leafed and sealed with a satin sealant.

2. 24kt Gold Quartz Necklace by Laura Lombari Jewelry
Quartz stone is dipped in 24kt gold, and is strung onto a vintage brass chain. Love the shape of these!

3. 24 Karat Card by Yellow Owl Workshop
Embossed and foil stamped, I love the idea of owning a brick of gold, and well, this may be the closest I’ll get (for now).

4. Globe Bubble Chandelier by Lindsey Adelman
I just love the brushed gold finishing on these 9-Globe Chandeliers by Brooklyn’s Lindsey Adelman. They are so light and airy and would work in so many places!

5. Carpe Noctem Wallpaper by Barneby Gates
I recently featured this new company out of the UK on my blog, and I have to say this contemporary take on a classic British heraldry design where the crests are finished in a soft metallic gold with a pinstripe background. I’m seriously thinking about papering our smaller half bath with this in our new townhouse.
