“Aim for the moon; even if you miss you’ll land among the stars” is a quote one often hears and somehow ended up on my desk this week at the same time as a great solar lighting device.

Before I sign off for a 2-week summer break, I thought I would share a brilliant this find with you. It is by Plust, an Italian design firm I discovered in more detail at this year’s Milan Furniture Fair. The Moon-Leaves, designed by Marta Laudani and Marco Romanelli, are maxi-stylized leaves in luminescent polyethylene with a photoluminescent finish. They absorb sunlight during the day, loading up with energy in order to offer a soft glow at night, creating unusual decor or becoming useful marks to guide guests to your front door.

It is a great indication of how creative eco solar lighting can be!
