Too bad no American company would undertake producing something like this; as they are too afraid of innovation, too preoccupied with $$$ and keeping costs down…. and keep creating the same boring ugly tall boxes we call refrigerators.
As you can see by the comments, most people would buy these. I like any product that can get away with it not looking like what it’s made for. That’s a plus for me.
I agree, mass-production can hinder a products overall design. Often the factor is money and time. Thankfully Harmon Kardon, BMW, Apple, Philips, Dyson, Muji, Yohji Yamamoto, Vitra, Bose and IKEA are just a few examples of companies that seem to understand the value and importance of good design, on an industrial scale. I’m being a tad simplistic, but innovative practical designs are out there.
