Lignum Fold is a new collection from the London-based Another Studio, which features hand folded objects with faceted exteriors. The household objects are made from wood that’s been scored, folded, and formed into a geometric shape, much how origami is done.
The Medium Dish for the desktop is formed by intricate folding patterns that require four different processes spread out over several days to achieve the finished product.
The Small Bowl is made using the same process as the above and works great for jewelry or small miscellaneous bits.
The Pencil Pot is made from either American walnut, steamed Beech, or Cherry, and is lined inside with white Japanese paper and a solid wood base to provide extra strength.
The Lampshade is the largest piece in the collection and each one is a labor of love as it takes a lot of care to build. The wooden body is accented with trim made from folded Japanese paper.
