Hans Wegner’s Tub Chair by PP Mobler

Danish family owned workshop PP Mobler is set to unveil its latest release, the Tub Chair, which is a rare prototype that Hans J. Wegner first designed in the 1950s. To commemorate Wegner’s 100th Anniversary, they are putting the chair into production and debuting it exclusively in Milan at Salone del Mobile 2014.

Wegner was always a pioneer when it came to experimenting with techniques and materials and the Tub Chair is no exception. The design showcases Wegner’s use of the emerging molding plywood technique with upholstery and traditional wood work. He even added an angle adjustment mechanism to the back so you can lounge at your particular comfort level.

Even though the design is from the 1950s, it still looks completely modern, doesn’t it?
