The Powell Residence is one of those modernist homes in the Hollywood Hills with jaw-dropping views of the city and Runyon Canyon. Originally a 1950s ranch, the house was transformed into the home it is today by architect Scott Carty, who worked with Gary Drake of Drake Construction to build it.
Named after the home’s investor and designer Jeff Powell, the residence is all about indoor/outdoor living and the sweeping panoramic views of Los Angeles. The residence has been home to Hollywood actor Matthew Perry since 2008 and is now up for sale for a cool $4,795,000 (the price just dropped!). For views like this, you pay a pretty penny…
Who could even concentrate on Uma Thurman on TV when you have city views like that? The ever-changing daytime/nighttime landscape serves as all the artwork you’ll ever need. The interior is kept mostly white with neutral furnishings, letting the view speak for itself.
Who needs walls when you can have windows like this to wake up and look through?
I love the idea of no mirrors above the sink so you can look out at the amazing view as your brush your teeth.
