Stunning Luxury Home by Nico van der Meulen Architects

What once was an outdated brick home in Limpopo, South Africa, now is a visually stunning masterpiece by none other than Nico van der Meulen Architects. Known for their massive, unforgettable designs, House Abo fits alongside perfectly with its large expanses of glass, an unforgettable pool, and double height living spaces.

A walkway floats over a pool that’s surrounded by wood decking. The same visual lines continue on the sun protecting wood slats over the windows and steel bars that create an overhang around the exterior.

Located on the Tropic of Capricorn, the summer months can be brutal, so special consideration went into the renovation and addition of the home. The house got a major overhaul by renovating the exterior, as well as the interior, with lots of steel and glass that allow natural light to filter in during the winter whenever possible. They also insulated the structure well to help it cool down fast in the summer evenings.
