A House with a Facade that Reflects the Children’s Personalities

Located in Boca del Rio, Veracruz, Mexico, Three House is a project built on an irregular 22′ x 62′ lot that was designed by Gerardo Ars Arquitectura for the family’s children. With three kids, the the house is composed of three orthogonal modules broken up for the various uses.

The ground floor is built for public and private uses with its entry, parking, living and dining room, kitchen, and master bedroom. The upper floor is strictly private with each of the children’s rooms in a different module.

Because of its location, privacy and security were imperative so the home feels completely secure from the inside.

What makes the house stand out is the striking facade with a lattice-type cage covering the front of the second floor exterior. The lattice is meant to reflect the combination of the children’s introverted and extroverted personalities and the closeness between them.

Behind the white lattice, the house is painted a bold yellow which fits right in with the eclectic mix of the surrounding home’s designs.
