House in Brazil by Progetto

This house, by Gisele Taranto and Izabela Lessa of Progetto Arquitetura, is situated in a rich neighborhood in Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Recently completed in 2010, the home is an L-shape that is divided into two sections. The first section is where the leisurely activities are done (pool, barbecue, spa, exercise) and the second section is the main living house. An outdoor hallway connects the two spaces.

The main house is two stories with a basement. The first floor has the living room, office, home theater, dining room, kitchen, laundry, etc. The second floor has a TV room, master suite and four children’s suites. In the underground area, there is a garage, utility rooms, storage and a cellar.

oooooh…this pool…

The home takes full advantage of Rio de Janeiro’s warm climate and relaxed lifestyle, which I covet every time I see a home like this.
