This lovely home in Finland from Lassila Hirvilammi Architects has adapted and evolved from the rural suburbs where is planted. It’s really two houses connected in the middle. It is modern, yet it retains a sense of “country-ness”, something we’ve been seeing a lot of lately For example, the November 2009 “Back to Basics: Modern Goes Country” issue of Dwell, which was dedicated to country-modern homes. I really enjoy the interior treatment of the roof and those high ceilings.
