Iittala x Issey Miyake Home Collection

Innovative brands Iittala and Issey Miyake came together to collaborate on a visionary collection for the home. Both have their own distinct aesthetics that are quite different, but the icons managed to produce a genius line of products that display a simplified design. Despite originating in different countries – Finland (Iittala) and Japan (Issey Miyake) – they found common ground in a desire for timeless design and innovation, and the result is a harmoniously subtle Iittala x Issey Miyake Home Collection of textiles, ceramics, and glass.

With a variety of offerings totaling 30 pieces, the collection brings the best of what each brand has to offer, inviting you to touch and feel the expertly crafted pieces. The fairly subdued color palette was inspired by nature, with deep forest green that references the Finnish woodlands, and a soft pink and light grey pay homage to the Sakura cherry blossoms. Nature also played a part in the shapes – the napkins fold into a silhouette of Mount Fuji.

The textiles feature Issey Miyake’s signature folding techniques, which are mimicked in the angles of the pentagonal tableware. The pentagon shape suggests a more special event and their hope is that you’ll invite more special moments into your life.
