A Tale of Two Materials: Innesti by Alexandra Denton & Sofia Lazzeri

Innesti is a series of vessels by Alexandra Denton and Sofia Lazzeri that combine glass and textiles. Innesti is the italian word for grafting, a botanic technique used to join tissue from one plant with another, with the purpose of creating new varieties.

I love how this project combines something that’s hard and cold with a soft, warm material to create an interesting pairing that somehow really feels like it belongs together.

The project aims to enhance the voices of the materials and stimulate an aesthetic experience that celebrates contrasts, knowledge and tradition.

The project was exhibited at Greenhouse during Stockholm Design Week.
