Inspiration Chair by Lapo Germasi

Lapo Germasi is a 24-year-old student from Italy studying industrial design. This chair is one you’ll either love or hate. It consists of a cube of electro-welded PVC, balls of low-density polyurethane and a suction valve.

“An empty solid but full of air, elements inserted into it but who fill it only partially. A fictional form, so simple but in become, a shape without shape. Potentially all or nothing, will be through air removal that the user will consolidate the look and the function.” So basically, you suck out the amount of air based on your comfort level. This kind of reminds me of Sleep Number beds or those infomercials for vacuum-sealed space-saver bags…
