Julian Hatton is a New York City artist who paints abstract landscapes in rich, earthy colors. His pedigree is Northeast preppy (Phillips Academy ’74 and Harvard ’79), but he studied painting in France and Spain. His scenes are comprised of naif shapes in blocky chunks, as though chiseled from hunks of Cray-Pas, with a perspective that runs straight up the page. For this week’s CMYLK, we paired Colourlovers palettes with three of his landscapes.
