Kaguya-hime

Kaguya-hime is a Japanese legend in which a bamboo cutter finds a little girl inside a hollow bamboo stem. The girl grows up in a woven bamboo basket and in 3 months she grows into a beautiful woman. All men of want Kaguya-hime and none can complete her request. In the end Kaguya-Hime is brought back to the moon, her original home.

This chair is based on the story above, as interpreted by designer Lotte can Laatum.
