The Lake Collection by Raw Edges for Golran

Raw Edges takes a whole new approach when it comes to Persian rugs in their latest work, The Lake Collection. Designed for Golran, the collection began with inspiration from lenticular Israeli artist Yaacov Agam who, with Victor Vasarely, brought optical art to the forefront. The rugs have the ability to create their own illusion confusion by looking bright and colorful in the morning when you leave home and then later on, it will appear calm and soothing when you arrive back home.

The designs are based on the op-art lenticular technique and by varying the pile heights in the rugs, you can get the same visual effect. Depending on where you stand, you’ll see the rug in different ways. The colors change just like the reflection of water from a lake depending on what time of day.
