LAM House by arstudio architecture

Built by arstudio architecture as a single story home in the shape of the letter “Z” (only with straight angles), the LAM House sits high on a hill in the Galilee area of Northern Israel. Although the residence joins a community of country cabins, the structure seems to fit right in with the surrounding landscape.

The central part of the “Z” is split into two sections, one being the open public area that houses the dining room and a living room with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors giving the space views of the valley below. The other half features a more private kitchen and family room that look out to the garden in front.

Off the main hub are two sleeping wings – one for the master and guest bedrooms and the other for the children.

You can enter the master bedroom either through an interior hallway or by crossing these wood platforms that go over the pond.

I love how the corner of the dining room disappears when you slide the glass panels open.

A walkway bridge from the home’s garden leads to the roof of a separate residential studio on the property.
